The 1st of December 2016 saw the best of the life insurance industry gathered in the Eagle Ballroom at Waters Edge, to celebrate the successful completion of the Life Insurance Awareness Month campaign (held in September 2016), and to recognize and reward the top performers of the program.
The Marketing and Sales Forum of the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) has proudly announced the 7th National Forum for Life Insurance Advisors (NAFLIA), which is scheduled to be held on the 19th of August 2016 at the Main Hall of the BMICH at 9.00 am. The Chairperson of the IBSL, Mrs. Indrani Sugathadasa will grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Other distinguished invitees will include the keynote speaker Mr. K. Udeni Kiridena, a name synonymous in the boxing fraternity and a key figure in the insurance industry has done Sri Lanka proud following his selection by the International Boxing Association (AIBA), as a referee / judge at the Rio Olympic Games – 2016.
A qualified Chartered Insurer by profession and an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of UK, Kiridena is a Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance and also an Associate Member of the Indian Insurance Institute.
The Cinnamon Grand in Colombo seemed extra alive over the past few days as Sri Lanka hosted the 12th International Microinsurance Conference. From the 15th to the 17th of November, more than 400 insurers from over 50 countries and Sri Lanka gathered to share their views and ideas on the topic of insurance and the development of microinsurance.
The Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) was formed in 1989 with the two states insurance corporations and the three private insurance companies then operated in Sri Lanka namely Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, National Insurance Corporation, Ceylinco Insurance Company Ltd, CTC Eagle Insurance Company and Union Assurance Limited joining hands.
